MTR® System - Horizontal Structures

MTR® T Beam

Lightweight prefabrication for traditional building systems

MTR® T Beam

To be formworked and shored up during assembly and pouring of the deck, without bottom pad and completely embedded in the cast-in-place concrete.

The MTR® T beam is the mixed steel-concrete solution that replaces improved adhesion reinforcement to be assembled on site, with the advantages of lightweight prefabrication. It consists of two or more steel lattice trusses from steelwork assembled together.

MTR® T beams are not self-supporting, they must be placed on formwork or on the slab of the predall slab, but they allow the construction of thick slab beams where ordinary reinforced concrete does not allow it.

MTR® T beams can be combined with any type of floor and vertical structure and can be used for the construction of any building where self-support is not essential.

Characteristics of the MTR® T-beam

CE-marked in accordance with UNI EN 1090-1, it consists of one or more steel lattice trusses from steelwork in accordance with UNI EN ISO 10025-2 assembled together with spacing varying between 15 and 25 cm: each individual truss consists of upper and lower beams connected by a central lattice core to be completed on site with a collaborating concrete casting.

Types

The MTR® T beam can be made in different types to achieve maximum design freedom.

Structural nodes

Support systems and structural nodes

The beams of MTR® System rest on the vertical load-bearing elements, columns and septa, by means of a special support system welded to the end of the beams and custom-designed, both to withstand first-phase loads and to avoid interference with the waiting bars. The connection of MTR® System elements with adjoining load-bearing elements, such as beams in continuity, columns and septa, is made by structural nodes using B450C steel bars for reinforced concrete.

Support on pillars

The MTR Beams® rest on the masonry or pillars by means of the special systems placed at the ends.

Armor at the nodes

The MTR Beams® are supplied to the construction site accompanied by the continuity reinforcements at the nodes, made of B450C grade reinforcing steel
