MTR® A Beam
In one element self-support, reinforcement and formwork (also R 60/90/120)
Self-supporting during assembly and casting of the deck with steel bottom pad.
The MTR® A beam, with a steel bottom plate, is self-supporting during assembly and casting of the deck. It makes it possible to meet any architectural requirement, representing the alternative and ideal solution to the constructional limitations that characterize traditional systems.
CE marked in accordance with UNI EN 1090-1, it consists of a bottom plate, top beams, steel cores, and steelwork completed on site by a collaborating concrete casting.
This structural solution makes it possible to build framed structures in seismic zones of any category by combining different types of floors depending on the building and the required functional performance.
Characteristics of the MTR® A beam
It consists of a bottom plate, top beams and steel cores from steelwork in accordance with UNI EN ISO 10025-2, completed in place by a collaborating concrete casting.
Calcestruzzo del getto di completamento
Classe minima C25/30 (quando non prescritto diversamente dal progettista).
Self-support
The beam carries itself and the slab bearing on it already from the moment it rests on the abutment, even before the completion casting.
Welding
Continuous wire under shielding gas (Process UNI EN ISO 4063-135) according to current NTC 2018.
Normative references
In First phase Sec. 4.2 NTC 2018 and Eurocode 3, in Second phase Sec. 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 NTC 2018 and Eurocodes 2, 3 and 4. For designs in seismic zone Ch. 7 NTC 2018 and Eurocode 8.
Design
According to MTR® Software calculation procedure adhering to current standards.
Mechanical Fire Resistance (R)
Native R 60/90/120 or with treatment of the bottom plate with intumescent paints, fire retardant plasters or covered with REI plasterboard sheets.
Base
Steel plate from steelwork in accordance with UNI EN ISO 10025-2 with the function of reinforcement, support for the slab and formwork for the completion pour.
Product certification
CE marked in accordance with UNI EN 1090-1
Types
The MTR® A beam can be made in different types to achieve maximum design freedom.
Lower plate treatments
This treatment protects the steel and creates a surface ready to be plastered. Non-structural sheeting for edge and soffit beams is also treated with the same technique.
The bottom plate of MTR® A beams is always treated with rust-proof primer on both sides and plaster-sealing resin only for the exposed part to be plastered.
Treatments and finishes
Rustproofing
Anti-rust primer
Plaster
Primer + resin aggrappante
REI protection
Use of MTR® C beams - MTR® T beams with suitable bottom plate cover - MTR® A native R 60/90/120 beams or with treatment of the bottom plate with intumescent paints, fire retardant plasters or covered with REI gypsum board sheets.
Corten steel
MTR® A beams, bottom plate and side retaining plates on request.
In cases where painting is required, such as with slab predalles or suspended ceilings, the treatment provided is limited to rust primer.
The intradosed MTR® A beam undergoes the same treatments as the thick MTR® A: in addition to the plate, the rails also remain exposed and therefore require treatment with primer and possible adhesion resin.
The extrados MTR® A beam has the bottom plate that is treated in the same way as the thick type (primer only or primer+grappant), while the sides of the extrados, have, in general, only primer treatment, because when the work is finished they will be protected with exterior sheathing.
Support systems and structural nodes
The beams of MTR® System rest on the vertical load-bearing elements, columns and septa, by means of a special support system welded to the end of the beams and custom-designed, both to withstand first-phase loads and to avoid interference with the waiting bars. The connection of MTR® System elements with adjoining load-bearing elements, such as beams in continuity, columns and septa, is made by structural nodes using B450C steel bars for reinforced concrete.
Support on pillars
MTR® Beams rest on the masonry or pillars by means of the special systems placed at the ends.
Armor at the nodes
Le Travi MTR® sono fornite in cantiere corredate dalle armature di continuità ai nodi, in acciaio per cemento armato di qualità B450C.
